Short answer

What do lawyers ask before joining StampMitra as a partner?

This page answers common questions from advocates and notaries about eligibility, onboarding, payouts, DSC signing, confidentiality and security, and support. Each answer is short and consistent with the partner agreement. Anything not yet confirmed shows as a bracketed placeholder, and you can write to the partner desk by email for the rest.

Eligibility

Advocates enrolled with a State Bar Council and not suspended from practice can apply. Notaries with a current appointment can register their interest while notary services launch. You also need a PAN, a bank or UPI account in your name and a Class 3 DSC. See Eligibility.

Yes, for the advocate role. We ask for your enrolment number, state and year, and we verify your enrolment certificate before an account is created. Advocates whose enrolment is suspended are not eligible. Notaries use a current notary appointment in place of the Bar Council enrolment.

Notary services are launching soon. Notaries with a current appointment and registration number can register their interest now, and we will contact them when notarisation opens. The role is described on the notaries page. Indicative requirements may change before launch.

Yes. During your checklist you choose the services you offer, such as legal notices, affidavits, agreements and deeds or legal review, and the states you cover. You set services, states and capacity, and you only receive cases that match your preferences.

Keep your enrolment certificate, PAN card, an ID proof and a cancelled cheque or UPI ID ready. A Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate is needed before you can sign. Clear copies speed up review. The full list is on the eligibility page and in the documents guide.

Onboarding and assignments

Partner accounts are created by our team after you apply and we verify your details. You then receive an email with a secure link to set your password. Accounts are not self-service, which keeps the network limited to verified partners. Start from the apply page.

Review usually takes [3-5 business days]. We check your enrolment details and documents, and we write by email if anything is missing. When you are approved we create your account and email the setup link. You can write to the partner desk to ask about progress.

You set a password, sign in with a one-time code and complete a checklist: your profile, practice areas and coverage, a payout account and acceptance of the partner agreement. You become eligible for assignments after the checklist is complete. The how it works page shows every stage.

Legal notices, affidavits, agreements and deeds, and document reviews that match the services and states you choose. Customers are verified and their documents collected before a case reaches you, so you start from a ready file. See Services for what each type of work involves.

Each assignment shows a response timer in your inbox. The window is set in your partner agreement: [Response window]. You can accept or decline within that time, and you can review the customer's documents before you decide to take the case.

Yes. Tell the partner desk by email or use Help in the portal, and assignments can be paused while you are unavailable. You can resume when you are ready. Write to the partner desk before you pause if you already have cases in progress, so they can be planned for.

Earnings and payouts

Earnings are batched on a fixed cycle and paid to your verified bank or UPI account. A statement is emailed with every payout so that you can reconcile it against your ledger and your bank credit. [Payout day] applies to your account. The earnings page explains how an earning is calculated, including GST and TDS.

Fees are set per service in your signed partner agreement: [Fee card]. Your ledger records every earning, adjustment and deduction in one list, with a CSV export, so you can reconcile them against your statements whenever you need to, and you can see the fee before you accept each case.

GST is added only if your GSTIN is verified, and TDS is deducted as per the applicable provision of income tax law. Rates and treatment are set in your partner agreement and shown on every statement. Read the payouts and TDS guide for the full flow.

Add a bank or UPI account in your payout settings. A change needs a one-time code and a short cooling-off period before the account is used for a payout. This protects you if someone else gains access to your session. Payouts go only to a verified account.

Raise a dispute on the earning from your ledger. Our team reviews it and replies by email. Keep your case reference and any supporting note handy so the review is quick. Adjustments are shown in your ledger, and you can download a statement for each payout.

DSC and signing

Yes, to sign notices and drafts. You can sign inside the portal with your own Class 3 DSC. Get one from a licensed Certifying Authority before you start taking assignments, because signing is part of the work. See the DSC signing guide for the steps.

Partners need a valid Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate, which involves the highest level of identity verification among individual certificates. Certifying Authorities licensed under the Information Technology Act, 2000 issue them. Keep your token and its password safe and never share them with anyone, including our team.

Install the signing helper on your computer once, connect your DSC and open the document in the portal. Follow the prompts to sign with your certificate. The signed file is saved as a new version in the case. Setup help is one click away inside the portal.

No. A DSC is a certificate issued to you by a licensed Certifying Authority, usually held on a token. Aadhaar eSign is an online signing service where the signer authenticates with Aadhaar. Partners sign with their own Class 3 DSC. Availability of eSign for other documents: [eSign availability].

Confidentiality and security

Documents are scanned for viruses and stored privately in an encrypted vault, never on public links. Every sign-in uses a one-time code, and views, downloads, signatures and changes are logged with time and device. Read more on the trust and security page.

No. You only see cases assigned to you, and your access ends when a case closes. This keeps customer information limited to the advocate or notary doing the work. Other partners cannot see your cases either. Keep customer data confidential and inside the portal, as the programme expects.

The audit trail logs views, downloads, signatures and changes, each with the time and the device used. Signed documents are versioned and cannot be silently changed. If a question arises about what happened on a case, the trail gives a factual record to refer to.

Every sign-in is verified with a one-time code, with lockout after repeated failures. Changes to your payout account need a fresh code as well. Use a password that you do not reuse elsewhere, and write to the partner desk at once if you suspect that someone else has used your account.

Yes. You can make export and deletion requests for your personal data by writing to the partner desk. The programme is aligned with India's data protection rules. The privacy policy will set out retention periods and timelines once the legal copy is published, and the partner agreement covers customer data.
